Wednesday morning around 9 a.m. Emirates flight 203 landed at John F. Kennedy Airport. The crew and many of the 521 passengers on board were feeling sick. This prompted airport officials to quarantine the plane at the runaway till emergency personal were on the scene. For couple of hours CDC, police, Homeland Security, and emergency vehicles had set up a checkpoint to check out and treat the passengers and the crew. So far 12 people have been taken to the hospital. The cause of the outbreak has not been confirmed, but the CDC said that the passengers and the crew reported coughing, fever and also vomiting. Flight 203 was a direct flight from Dubai to New York City. However there were passengers that came from Mecca which is having a major flu outbreak right now. There is no word when all the passengers will be able to disembark. The CDC said that passengers who are not ill will be able to continue on their way.
