It has recently come to light, according to an official, that the whistleblower came by the information about the alleged phone call by means other than through there work. It is due to this that the administration has determined the report does not fit the guidelines or requirements to be covered under the intelligence whistleblower law.
How was this conclusion reached?
It is thought that the person who first reported the call was a White House intelligence agent with second-hand knowledge, in other words, hearsay. Given the sensitive nature of the issue, suspicions persist the person had some familiarity of the scope of presidential powers. It may have been due to this reason the inspector general signed off on it as being “urgent and credible”.
There is no public evidence that the call described even happened or that any abuse of power took place.
What’s Biden’s involvement?
As was reported in the video, Hunter, Joe’s son, became a director of Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company, when Biden was Vice-President. It was also during this time the Obama administration, along with other western government heads, were urging the Ukrainian government to fire Prosecutor Viktor Shokin.
Shokin, who had been previously looking into the owner of the aforementioned gas company, was having the finger pointed at him for ignoring corruption.
The Vice-President made a threat of withholding $1B in loans, which were guaranteed loans, if the Ukrainian government did not bow to the pressure and cut the prosecutor loose and also fall into compliance in regards to other anti-corruption requests.
In May of 2019, the now-former prosecutor absolved Bidon of any illicit behavior.
